A shy and secretive bird by nature, the Least Bell's Vireo has been and still remains a critically endangered species. The oasis of riparian woodlands that serve as its natural habitat is gradually being eradicated by development projects. Its unique, silver-tongued call may no longer ever be heard again if we continue at our current rate of urban construction, overgrazing, and development of power lines.
